wow you are all so misguided. Evil is throwing you a decoy to look the other way. In reality the “powers that be” are using your fears to capture your liberty and turn the one world government not into a catholic one, but a marxist, totalitarianism. The opposite of catholicism actually. bye bye freedom in the name of your “security”. What the pope really wants is for people on a global level to usurp the government(s) that are not rooted in God’s law of nature, and his commandments. We all have a God given right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our God as christians is NOT the government. Don’t be fooled so easily. Do some research on the Hutus and the Tutsis. Don’t let history repeat itself.

I take it you got that from Dreher’s blog. As I posted there, that seems like nonsense. Are Africans and Latin Americans predisposed to globalism? On the contrary, it seems to me like globalism is almost entirely a Euro-American thing. I don’t know of a huge Colombian presence in their ranks.

So the humble, congenial newly ordained Vietnamese priest serving at my parish is part of the Catholic globalist plot. I’ll have to keep an eye on him. Of course when I was a kid, the pastor emeritus of my parish was an old German, so this goes back a long way. And in the interim, I’ve attended churches staffed by Cubans, Africans, Mexicans, Irish and God knows how many others. I really can’t keep track. This all goes back to that notorious globalist Jesus Christ who commanded his apostles to preach the gospel to ALL nations. One of those apostles, Thomas, made it all the way to India where he established a branch of the Church whose nuns are currently caring for patients at our local hospital here in Corpus Christi. What an insidious 2000 year global conspiracy!

I’m afraid you guys are speaking whereof you know not. It is folly to suggest that we have here a choice between localism and globalism, when in fact, both are necessary and unavoidable, at least at this point. Ignoring the need for unified action on global economic questions would not somehow allow you to pursue a localist lifestyle. It would only consolidate the ability of enormous multinational corporations to take away your ability to live locally at all. A radical free market spread over the globe will favor the cleverest, rather than all equally, and the cleverest will not balk at destroying local business, agriculture, religious culture, and family culture. The Vatican’s effort, in light of this, is to encourage just enough unified global action (to whatever extent that is even possible) to protect “subsidiarity.” This would be a good thing.

Obviously, this particular document is tied up with a lot of Enlightenment and progressivist nonsense about the universal brotherhood of man and whatnot, but the idea that there should be one world political authority equivalent to the one spiritual authority of the Pope has been around since Dante at least.

Seriously, though it is pathetic to see the RCC push anti-Catholic ideas. While the RCC was never a fan of nationalism, giving power to a one-world regime is the opposite of localism, and importing Muslims is the death of the remains of Latin Christendom. This is LAtin American and African Liberation Theology with a veneer.
