Another Anti-Paul Article at American Spectator: Ron Paul’s Foreign Policy is “Submissive”

This one is by Aaron Goldstein. Aaron is an interventionist and generally moderateish, but is usually thoughtful. He loses all thoughtfulness here however and reverts to silly interventionist boilerplate. He resorts to name-calling and simple-minded guilt by association. I think AmSpec just posts one of these anti-Paul pieces whenever they need to drive up their page views. The very sensible James Antle must be embarrassed by all this.

It’s funny how often interventionists frame the non-interventionist position using terms like “weak” and in this case “submissive” (that’s nice), but it is the interventionists who are ruled by fear. I really do not need a lecture on masculinity from people who think we are going to be invaded by Muslims and forced to bow to Mecca unless we “fight them over there.”

I watched about half the debate last night. This is the first one I’ve watched. Ron Paul got a lot of time, I am pleased to have noticed. It is probably more likely that people will listen to him than that people will vote for him. From my view there simply is no candidate. We need a chimera – but of course each of us would choose different candidate attributes with which to form the chimera. I like Ron Paul – I will probably vote for him in the SC primary next year even though I don’t trust him to handle the immigrant invasion we are experiencing. I simply don’t think he will be able to overcome his over-the-top libertarianism and use government power on our border. In short, I trust him “over there” but not “over here.” If GW was “invade the world, invite the world”, RP is “don’t invade the world, invite the world.” Of course, none of the others are any better – some worse. Except maybe Michelle Bachmann, but I suspect she would get rolled by the liberals if she were in power.

Mr. Aaron Goldstein wants another George Bush type who will sacrifice thousands of American lives and trillions of American dollars to invade nations in the Middle East that pose little or no threat to the USA but Israel sees as potential threats or rivals to them, not us.

Bachmann, Santorum, Cain, and Gingrich are the leading puppets trying to please the Zionists.

I want a president who will do what is best for America.

Our zealous support for Israel is the main reason the Arabs now see us as an enemy. If Israel attacks Iran, what will happen to the price of gasoline ?

Immigration debate is a done deal.

Immigration is no longer an issue, frankly, and that’s that.

You want to live in 2004, that’s great.

In response to Chris Hewlett, I’m with you on just about everything you said. The only thing I as being gray is your concerns about the border.

The reality is that our government has never gone after businesses who hire illegal immigrants. Thus, its no surprise people are crossing that border day in and out. What many don’t realize about Ron Paul is that he will hold businesses accountable for their actions. He has no political motivation to allow the current abuse to continue like many of our politicians. Therefore, I personally believe you will see many of the existing illegal immigrants leave without our security forces ever lifting a finger.

My only real concern is the use of the borders by those that wish to cause us harm. There, I do believe you may have an argument. While I appreciate Ron Paul’s desire to lead by being the shining star, I worry he may not understand the damage already done by previous administrations. We will be living with the high risk for years to come because of it and we therefore need to make sure to protect our borders.

Your childishness does not negate the factual basis of my assertions.

But I realize it’s painful to acknowledge reality, so that’s cool, son.

Oh, enlightened one please be less cryptic in your assertions – whatever they may be – so as to help us simple-minded folk.

not really worth the effort, is it?

Verily I say, you might not want to waste time on me but certainly there might be someone out there that might benefit from your revealed wisdom.

Its not exactly a secret from anyone under 65 who pays any attention to the world as it is.
