Cat Fight at American Spectator
RedPhillips

Posted under Media & Mitt Romney & Newt Gingrich & Politics & Ron Paul

There is a cat fight at American Spectator between the allegedly pro-Romney Quin Hillyer and the allegedly pro-Newt Jeffrey Lord. This is pretty ugly, and I’m actually surprised it has reached this level on a public blog. RET may have to step in to separate these two.

Jeffrey Lord, who has intellectual integrity about equivalent to Bill Clinton’s, has become a purveyor of smear jobs utterly divorced from facts, logic, and decency. After an exchange of about a dozen emails back and forth in which he refused to acknowledge simple facts — not opinions, facts — the time has come to show him up for his growing and despicable hackery.

Of course this is all incredibly silly. Two people fighting over who is the most conservative, RINO Romney or Futurist Tofflerite Newt, is embarrassing when there is a candidate in the race who favors originalist constitutionalism and a commodity based currency and opposes central banking, etc., etc., etc.

And to think we tried to point out Jeff Lord was a ridiculous hack. Looks like RET and Hillyer have some new backers who don’t care for Newt’s backers.

But that’s how it goes. I’ve concluded Ron Paul is just about the most unlikeable person on Earth, given the lengths to which self-professed conservatives will go not to have to support him. Maybe conservatives have a fear of success? 2012, even more than 2008, is really one of those years that makes you wonder what on Earth is wrong with the right.

    Matt;

We cannot forget that these people committed crimes–disgrace is one thing, jail another. Yes, they do fear “success” for quite rational reasons.

Our “elites” are total failures. The entire West is in shambles, and commies/globalists/feminazis are running amok destroying what’s left. Democracy is a failure. I move we elect a new king.

They don’t call the GOP the stupid party for nothing. Actually, the problem is that there are no conservatives remaining; the conservatives of today are the 1960′s radical leftists. Yet, they still think of themselves as conservative. Not just stupid, they are also delusional, allergic to truth.

You’ll get no support from these self-righteous “conservative” morons. They are busy trying to prove to the left how non-racist they by marrying off their children to the orcs. Feckless traitors. Move on and build a parallel system while you fight the new and the old liberals with the other hand.

“But in Nevada, which is 26 percent Hispanic, Paul outlined an immigration policy far outside the Republican mainstream.

Paul blasted politicians who blame immigrants for causing the country’s economic problems. He compared the situation to Nazi Germany’s targeting of Jews in the 1930s.

“When things go badly, individuals look for scapegoats,” Paul said. “Hispanics, the immigrants who have come in, are being used as scapegoats.”"

Reductio ad Hitlerum. Unfortunately that view is not ‘outside of the mainstream’ of either the Republican or Democratic political class. What a disappointment.

    Paul can’t resist pandering either.

Par for the course when it comes to the Spectator. You want to talk about screwed up definitions of conservatism.

Amen indeed!…….They are all draft dodging flower children, with the exception of Ron Paul.

Without term limitations, nothing will change.
