Anyone watch Breaking Bad?
I didn’t watch the first four seasons on AMC. I discovered the first three seasons streaming on Netflix. (Netflix is the greatest invention since the car, by the way, although it has adversely affected my sleeping habits.) I recently was in a panic knowing that season five was about to start on AMC, and I didn’t yet have season four available to me. Thankfully it became available on Netflix on disc. I had to watch all of them in a rush so I could get season four in before season five started live, but I made it just under the wire.
Episode three of season five, the final season, aired last night. So far season five is keeping up the strong work of the earlier seasons. This is the first season I have actually watched as each episode airs. After the convenience of having all the episode available to me at once where I could watch back to back episodes into the wee hours of the morning when I really should have been sleeping, having to wait a week between episodes is a bit of a bummer.
So, anyone else watch Breaking Bad? What makes it such a great show? You still rooting for Walt?

Red,
I limit my AMC viewing to Mad Men, which I think is very well done.

Yes, a dark tv show is a really great way of lightening things up.
Incidentally, Red, have you ever consider quiting alliances that have no positives, such as the one you have with Colonel Sander’s autistic grandson?
Mike’s a net loss, and having a web-master who is volatile and dumber than a post, to boot isn’t good for business.

Feltan, I watch Mad Men too. Save that. In a future post I’m going to ask people in general what shows they are watching.

Sav, I think you are pathologically incapable of helping your own case. There is something Freudian about the way you sabotage yourself. I don’t think you can help yourself. I’ll make a deal with you. I’ll post anything you write as a quest column as long as it is not offensive in some way, if you can go 30 comments without being a condescending smart a**. You can criticize constructively, you just can’t be your typical smart a** self. (They have to be real thoughtful comments, not “How’s the weather” or something like that.) I don’t think you can do it.

I have seen some episodes of the first season, but I haven’t been able to sit through the rest. Some have described the show as the story of one man becoming an alpha, though the story may end badly for Walt. The shows I prefer to watch regularly have a more traditional sort of hero.

I tried one episode of BB but it didn’t hold my interest. My current TV series craze is Game of Thrones. I got the Season 1 on Netflix based on a recommendation from one of my daughters who had only seen the final Season 1 episode. Now I’m hooked. I downloaded the first 4 books to my Nook and have even ordered a t-shirt.

I watched the three seasons of Breaking Bad on Netflix streaming this past Spring, and the vids for season 4 are in the queue. (Let me also recommend you watch the FX series Damages, on Netflix streaming.)
I still miss Sopranos, and Breaking Bad offers enough to fill the void–it’s pretty much the same formula with some novel adjustments.
Via netflix, streaming and discs, I have kept up with Curb Your Enthusiasm, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Damages, Downton Abbey–if a season behind by the time the discs or streaming is available.
