Breaking Bad is not getting a ton of love here.
So what are you watching then?
I watch a lot of TV, but I don’t watch a lot of TV if you know what I mean. I have the TV on a lot, but mostly while I’m on the computer posting and commenting. I haven’t until recently routinely watched many TV series. I don’t like being tied down at a particular time, and I find it hard to keep up with a series. Netflix has changed that somewhat. Before Netflix got me hooked, the last series I watched faithfully was the 24 seasons.
I am an AMC mark. I watched seasons 1-4 of Mad Men on Netflix. I watched season 5 on TV. I watched season 1 of The Walking Dead on Netflix. Season 2 on TV. I watched season 1 of The Killing on Netflix. Season 2 on TV. I watched season 1-4 of Breaking Bad courtesy of Netflix. I’m now watching season 5 on TV.
I am currently watching season 1 of Downton Abbey on Netflix, and I have season 2 DVDs in the queue.
Other than Downton Abbey and AMC fare, the only other series I watch is Longmire on A & E. Longmire, unlike the others, has self contained episodes and is not a serial drama, but I am a sucker for Western themed shows.
I don’t get HBO or Showtime, so I can’t watch Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, etc. on TV.
On the recommendation of C Bowen, I’m going to check out Damages. I’ll check out Game of Thrones since so many people have good things to say about it, but it really doesn’t seem like my sort of thing. I don’t much like fantasy. Season 1 is available on DVD.
Anyone watch Hell on Wheels? I’m considering it also.

James O’Meara commented the other that he wasn’t sure whether Always Sunny in Philadelphia was on our side of the aisle or not, as far as cultural criticism goes. In any case, it’s a personal favorite.

Currently I’m watching Longmire as well. I’ll probably continue following the show next season, along with Burn Notice and Justified. The third season of Wallander with Kenneth Branagh will begin airing in the U.S. in September. I did watch both seasons of Downton Abbey but on the whole I don’t favor that series so much. I’ll probably continue watching Person of Interest, even though it can be rather PC at times.
I doubt the new Vegas will be as good as Longmire or Justified.

I too watched 24, and was sad when they wrapped it up.
Now I watch Mad Men.
Only one series at a time for me — too much else going on.

Feltan

I agree with the Chronicles editors. You should blow up your TV.

I’m not currently following any series on TV. I have the next seasons of Gossip Girl, Spartacus, and Game of Thrones on my Netflix list for whenever they are available on DVD. I also have a number of movies on my Netflix list.

The wife and I are watching Dawson’s Creek, a ridiculous soap opera from the 90s. I never watched much of it at the time, but it’s good for nostalgia value. Other than that I don’t watch TV, just movies and video games. Which isn’t any better, but it just takes too much mental effort for me to remember when something is on every week.

What about Dexter? I’ve heard good things about it.

I see Red is having second thoughts about his proffered deal and trying to bait me.

I rented the first three seasons of Dexter on Netflix, but got tired of it after that. I’ve similarly tired of such series as Leverage, Royal Pains, and Burn Notice. Others, such as Nikita and Covert Affairs, have lost their appeal to me after just a few episodes of the first season.

Burn Notice (currently jumping the shark) and Person of Interest.

Sav, you’re paranoid. It’s not always about you.
I don’t even know what you’re referring to. The post itself or my question about Dexter?

Finished season 1 of Downton Abbey last night. Season 2 DVDs are in the queue. I’m really enjoying it.

Sorry I can’t be a part of this discussion. I got rid of my television two years ago.

But kept your computer screen?
Bruce on 03 Aug 2012 at 6:34 pm #
The computer screen has a few legitimate uses for conservatives. The TV screen has none.

“The TV screen has none.”
I figured we might get a few of these types of responses. So conservatives can’t watch football on TV?
T. Chan on 04 Aug 2012 at 2:31 am #
I watched a couple of episodes of Hell on Wheels – the story looks good on paper, sympathetic Confederate hero seeking revenge for the murder of his wife, but it is very slow-paced.

You’re a big boy and can do whatever you want.

Bruce, my point was that you were painting with a rather broad brush, don’t you think?
