Huckabee deserves to be criticized for his big spending, tax raising, amnesty supporting ways, but this has all the marks of an organized attack. See my posy below.

I think, despite Toomy’s reservations, the neocons are giving Hucakbee so much press because they want him to be Giuliani’s VP — to make Giuliani more palatable for the religious.

I actually think the GOP insiders and neocons are worried about Huck. He is not an insider, not one of them, and they are worried that they may not be able to control him.
Just a hunch.

There are seven people running for the GOP nomination currently that have little to no respect for limited government and federalism. Ron Paul ain’t one of them.

He may be an outsider, but he’s a consistent globalist (despite his recent rhetoric about free trade), pro-Israel fanatic, and pro-war in Iraq.
I searched the recent posts at The Corner, and 6 are positive or neutral on Huckabee, while 3 are negative.
His biggest critic over there is Ramesh “Last Chance Armada” Ponnuru because of Huckabee’s criticism (insincere I think) on free trade.
Rich Lowry seems to be his biggest defender.

I’m no fan of the Huckster, a big government socialist, but notice how the CFR controlled WSJ attacked him after he opposed ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty, an elitist boondoggle that puts 70% of the earth’s surface under the control of the worlds premier dictator club.
