Oberlin College cancels classes after ‘racist and homophobic’ incidents

Student body president Cotton Mather questions Diversity Smith and Tolerance Jones, who witnessed the “racist and homophobic” acts on campus.

Chaos reigns at “liberal and progressive” Oberlin College, which has suffered a veritable reign of terror from obviously illiberal and reactionary elements. Some of the horrors that have taken place include:

Over the past month at Oberlin College, swastikas have been daubed on windows, gay-rights flyers defaced and a poster for Black History Month overwritten to read “Nigger History Month”.

On Monday, police were called to investigate a sighting of someone dressed as a member of the Klu Klux Klan near the college’s Afrikan Heritage House in the early hours of the morning.

That prompted officials to suspend classes “to make a strong statement about the values that we cherish here at Oberlin: inclusion, respect for others, and a strong and abiding faith in the worth of every individual”.

Officers later indicated the KKK sighting could have been a case of mistaken identity, noting that college security found a student wrapped in a blanket nearby.

But isn’t the use of decoys, such as alleged “students” wrapped in alleged “blankets,” the very kind of ruse the wily KKK is known for? Yes, it is. So the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Or something like that.

In the meantime, students will courageously parade their open-mindedness by whipping themselves up into a lather of self-righteousness. Just keep those cameras going.

Within about five seconds of hearing the news about the Oberlin goings-on, I figured it was a false-flag “operation” by some antifa wackos. Oberlin is one of those self-righteous lefty-loony-bins that purport to call themselves “institutions of higher learning.”

    Augustinian,

Heh. How long until these fools calling themselves wise wake up to see they’re getting no education but lots of debt?

I posted this at Sailer’s too, but what I don’t get is the level of hysteria. One person in KKK garb, just wandering around? For all anyone knows it was a homeless mental patient. If it were an actual rally or even an organized group sans-garb attempting some kind of political or social action then maybe I could understand, but what exactly were they so scared of?

“…the values that we cherish here at Oberlin:inclsion, respect for others, and a strong and abiding faith in the worth of every individual”…

This sounds like something a ‘respectable’ conservative would say.Apparently,Karl Rove & Co are writing press releases for Oberlin College.

They’re not scared. They’re trying to make hay by pretending to fight an “enemy” that doesn’t exist. I have a hunch the diversity department is trying to justify it’s huge budget.

Most of those students are prissy rich idiots anyway, so they can afford this debt.

    Matt Weber,

The more aghast these clowns pretend to be at the mere sight of secular sin, the more righteous they appear.

    Or so they think!

    SoCalPatriot,

Ol “Turdblossom” would fit right in. There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between a college administrator and a country club Republican.

    IanH,

    Bingo! It’s all Kabuki.

I’m sure at the higher levels people were being cynical and didn’t really believe that there was any threat from Random KKK Person…I have to believe this, as I’m not sure you could successfully run an organization while being so stupid as to believe that. But even if the people on top were being political, what about all of those that took part in the “discussions”? Surely there were true believers there. I just want to get in their heads for a minute to find out what they thought might have happened had the Random KKK Person gone unopposed.
