ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – According to the New Hampshire State Republican Party and an Associated Press report, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will be excluded from an upcoming forum of Republican candidates to be broadcast by Fox News on January 6, 2008.
“Given Ron Paul’s support in New Hampshire and his recent historic fundraising success, it is outrageous that Dr. Paul would be excluded,†said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder. “Dr. Paul has consistently polled higher in New Hampshire than some of the other candidates who have been invited.â€
Snyder continued, “Paul supporters should know that we are continuing to make inquiries with Fox News as to why they have apparently excluded Dr. Paul from this event.â€
Chris Brunner of Lew Rockwell says don’t contact the NH GOP. It may not be their decision. It appears that it is Fox News’ decision.

This is bad for the Paul campaign.
But I get the feeling that it will be worse for FOX News

Andrew, I actually don’t think it is bad news. If this stands I think it will help Ron Paul. His people will be ticked off and will protest in mass numbers outside the debate. Plus it contributes to the impression that the Establishment is trying to fix this thing.

When I first heard of the exclusion I thought it was a terrible thing also. But on greater reflection, Ron Paul will get much more coverage by being excluded than the seven or eight minutes he would have gotten in the debate. What is one more debate out of the half dozen already given. Now half of the coverage of the debate will be about who wasn’t there and why he was excluded. The other candidates will have to discuss whether Paul should have been there or not. It isn’t as if the format of a debate is the best or most reliable way to get your position across. Further all those independant minded voters in NH won’t like the shabby treatment Paul has gotten. Who thinks it is a good idea for big business/media to decide who is an acceptable candidate? There could be a significant blowback against the other candidates to the benefit of Paul. Perhaps Giuliani will finally understand the meaning of the term. You have to wonder whether the Paul camp has a mole at Faux News.

How much do you want to make a bet the Lincoln comments and Bhutto comments so riled up Kristol, O’Reilly, Gibson, Doocy, etc that they demanded he not be invited, even though RP has three times the support of Thompson in New Hampshire?
Fine then, Fox News has shown itself for what it really is: NNN (Neocon News Network).

The “Lincoln Worshipers” have excommunicated Paul for heresy!……..It will be intresting to see what the CNN (Clinton News Network) has to say as they fight for ratings?………………………….There will be many voters though, that make this their first debate to watch as U.S. Citizens rush to become an informed voter at the last minute.

What has not been discussed thus far is that apparently non of the other candidates have spoken out againts this outrageous decision – that fact alone speaks volumns about the total void of integrity of Giuliani, Thompson, Romney et al.

More of the same garbage. They are afraid of him and of his supporters and will continue to attack his character. Fox News stinks and so does Rupert Murdoch!
