Unity Through Service to the State
Weaver

Posted under Culture & John McCain & NAU & NeoCons

John McCain recommends voluntary civil and military service as a means to unifying the US. Who needs ethnicity, culture, tradition, community, etc. when there’s the state to unify and guide us?

McCain writes:

Beyond the good deeds accomplished, Americorps has transformed the lives of young people who have participated in its ranks. They have begun to glimpse the glory of serving the cause of freedom. They have come to know the obligations and rewards of active citizenship.

As someone mentioned to me recently, it’s surely evil to aid a state that’s striving to destroy one’s own people and beliefs. A patriot ought to aid those he has a duty to, not those attacking him…

As simple as it seems, many conservatives continue to mistake their attackers for their own people. And under McCain’s desired service to the state, this confusion would only increase and the West be further dissolved, redefined, and pushed down the memory hole.

Conservatives assure me Obama would do more damage than McCain. With friends like McCain, remnant Americans ought to keep their powder dry.

How will the many millions of immigrants within the US today be absorbed and made loyal? The same way Vietnam helped break down ethnic barriers: via service to the state.

Weaver…………..Not only does John McCain lack the intelectual capacity to write this shit, but could not even read it convincingly with a tele-promter!………….Wow!…………This sounds like someting out of the FDR wto programs with a bit of Jammy Carter “Habitat For Humanity” spin?

I/E “Get ready for WWIII cause we gonna expect some sacrifice from you po ass middle-class!…………I’m convinced that this sick bastard fully intends to drag our nation into a conflict with Russia, based on Zionism ambitions and his mental shortcommings!……..This guy is the MOST SCARY politician to arrive on the U.S. Political scene sence Abraham Lincoln.

I will comment farther after I finish reviewing some new information. But, in the mean time, is it true that Sara Palin canceled her interview with “Eagle Forum” inorder for Joe Lieberman to Parade her in front of AIPAC for approval?………….Inquiring minds want to know?

weaver…………I’ve searched for a quality interview with Putin regarding the truth about John McCain’s foreign advisor (Randy Scheunemann) advising Georgia and U.S. military advisors to attack South Osatia during the Olympics. This interview is one of the best that I’ve found, with a multitude of other answers that Americans miss out on with the Westerm MSM?…..Ha-Ha…….I’m sure that AIPAC will send out the “Calvary” to do damage control, but the interview is good!

Americans have become so nationalistic and politically utopian, it’s awful.

    Andrew,

and there are no longer any roots within that nationalism. It’s a nationalism centered entirely on citizenship, nothing more.

McCain’s ideal is a hypercentralised nation with no identity or principles of its own, wholly compliant to the ruler’s whims.

And he understands a powerful tactic for reaching his ideal.

I put this under the tag of NAU because McCain has long favored mass immigration from Mexico. His blank slate nation would have no qualms about joining into the NAU were McCain to wish it.

Obviously McCain wouldn’t be able to achieve his objective, but he would be able to move closer to it. Inch by inch the US of old is disappearing… and a monster is rising from its ashes.

On the bright side, some remnant will remain for a time in parts of fly over country and the future’s always open, but how conservatives can support McCain is beyond me.

Andrew, I’ve got a video clip in mind – if I can figure how to cut it from a video and paste it into youtube I’ll post.

It’s a perfect caricature of McCain for this topic, from a popular anime series (well, popular in Japan…) called Code Geass.

i earnestly served the state when we resembled each
other and communicated in the same language, but
recently, for inexplicable reasons, i’ve lost most
    of my former enthusiasm…

McCain, Obama find common ground on national service

ServiceNation Presidential Candidates Forum Transcript McCain/Obama

    JOHN MCCAIN:

National service can do a great deal. National service can unite us, just as the military unite us as we— we people from— and I— h— in— interface with people from all over the world. But also let me say, look. The greatest thing that makes America exceptional is we have had wave after wave of people come to this country for the same reason.

They wanted to build a better life. They wanted freedom. And they want to be part of America. So I don’t accept that premise of somehow— some of the most patriotic Americans I’ve ever seen, and the hardest working and the most ready to serve this country and go in harm’s way are those who just came here.

    (OVERTALK)

    JOHN MCCAIN:

—forget being at a ceremony in Baghdad last Fourth of July where 160-some people who are green card holders s— got the— their citizenship. And they had been willing to serve in the military for an accelerated path to citizenship. That’s how much they wanted to be part of this country. That was an exhilarating experience.

No Draft, No Way. But, How About Some Help?

There would be a lot of flexibility in the program. For example, the 12 months of national service could be stretched out over several years, with service taking place during summer months, weekends or evenings.

Any compulsory program is years away yet, but there will be more debate in the meantime. Rangel backs a national service program. So does House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-MO). Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is also a leading supporter of compulsory service, a subject he’ll raise in the presidential campaign, as will former Sen. John Edwards (D-NC).

President Bush called for broader national service from young people, although not in the form of a detailed compulsory plan, after the 2001 terrorist attacks. Soon after the attacks, Bush and Congress established the USA Freedom Corps, a catchall of government-sponsored service programs.

Several businesses support the idea in general. Wal-Mart, ExxonMobil and General Dynamics, for instance, back a broad-based program, as does the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, even though specific details remain to be developed, including whether and how young people should be compensated. A combination of federal, state and privately financed compensation for those providing service may be the route taken if a program is established.

    McCain is better… how?
