I just had another article posted in TAC entitled “Off Base: Is the future of the GOP Scots-Irish or Indian-American?”
I hope you enjoy it!

Patroon,
Great piece. And I think we all know the literal answer to your rhetorical question.

If a deep-red state like Louisiana could vote for him for Congress and governor, then the rest of the traditional Republican rank and file should not find it difficult to vote for him either.
Is it really down to accomodating ourselves to a post-American America? “Inevitability” is a sales tactic.

I tend to believe that “Dubya” and his neocon advisors made such a mess, that “Lost Identity Votes” were more of an “Anti-Bush” vote.
The line in the sand has now been drawed, and “Identity Politics” are out of pandora’s box. I still believe that we also have a split between the Fox News voters, and the Internet voters which is the youth. These guys are information sponges, understand the “Gulf Of Tonkin Incident”, the “USS Liberty Incident”, the facts regarding Palestine, and many do believe 911 to be an inside job. And they genuinly wanted any kind of change……….But, their not stupid, and will monitor the new administration and regroup in 2012 based on the info that never reaches the public through Sean Hannity and Rush Limbough.

Good piece, but I’ll be shocked if Jindal is able to win an election as the GOP Presidential candidate because of his being Indian – he’d need to be a gun toting, potato farming, Guinness drinking, Bible thumping Samity Sam to win as the GOP candidate. For what it’s worth, I’m half Ulster-Irish.
And you’re right about this:
The demographic breakdown of “white” and “black” etc. is oversimplified. The American stir fry is certainly more complicated than white, black, Hispanic, Jewish, Asian.
Those who might be considered the core ethnic group of America are already near minority status, and there are plenty of divides within it as well.

One criticism of the article: improper use of “may” instead of “might”. It’s a common error nowadays, and practically accepted, but defenders of the West ought to be a cut above the barbarians.
I’m ah admittedly in agreement with Fellist, which won’t come as a surprise to you, but it’s a fine article nonetheless.
