Presumably the people behind the agenda of Murdoch’s WS feel the need for a rebrand.
A paleo could take over the Weekly Standard and, if its association with the neocons hasn’t already sullied its reputation sufficiently to neutralise the threat to politics as normal, attack dogs from the establishment left and right will soon accomplish that. Meanwhile the owners, personnel, and agenda move on to fresh pastures.
