Well this is odd. Lawrence Auster has a post up at TakiMag? Did he give them permission to post this? I thought he had a falling out with TakiMag and demanded the link to his blog be taken down because TakiMag was insufficiently deferential to Israel. Maybe they have made up.
I’ve had my differences with Auster over his Lincoln loving nationalism, but he knocks it out of the park with this post. (Here the link is to the original.) Liberalism really is the ideology of Western suicide.

What do you mean he is “all over the place?” Do you mean his stuff appears at many sites so it should come as no surprise that it is up at TakiMag, or that Auster’s ideas are all over the place?

Sorry – his ideas. He’s got one foot in the conservative camp and another in Alan Dershowitz’s. When I read his silly diatribe againt Takimag I wrote him off as a neocon screwball with a bizarre, unhealthy devotion to a foreign state. Now he sounds like a sane American.

Look, Auster has certainly made some biting remarks about Taki and Takimag in the past, and his ire has also been directed against our contributors and friends, like Gottfried and Derb. I simply found his blog to be brilliant–indeed, it got to the heart of the problem with contemporary American conservatism in general, and thus I wanted to repost it.
I’m certainly not against publishing an original contribution from Auster in the future, as he’s an important voice; however, I doubt there’s ever going to be any kind of indissolvable alliance between our forces. Still, internecine warfare among the paleos, alt righters (or whatever you want to call us) only benefits our mutual enemies.
