Civilian Trial or No Civilian Trial for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed?

There seems to be some debate on the right about this.

The debate at Chronicles is intelligent.

The debate at American Spectator, not so much. Although S.L. Toddard and I are trying to fight the good fight.

I get not giving non-citizens the same rights as citizens, but I am very much against corrupting the meaning of enemy combatant.

    Slippery slope.

Raimondo warned about the Military Commissions Act of 2006: Are You an ‘Unlawful Combatant’? (I linked to it from CHT here).

What are they going to do if he is aquitted? After all, there was more evidence on OJ than this guy. I can’t imagine the reaction.

For anyone of the Old Right persuasion, AmSpec could definitely use more paleos commenting there.

Really what reason is there to believe that 911 was anything other than a Black Op by Israel and/or elements of our own Government/Military???????

Even assuming the official version of 911 to be true- Al-Qaeda is NOT a State and cannot wage War hence a crime was committed. IF one still wants to say that KSM was waging War well then one can hardly whine about terrorism as the Towers and Pentagon are perfectly reasonable targets if one is making War on the USA.

When giving a foreign national the same rights of a United States citizen, we DEVALUE all of our citizenry rights.
