Posted under Conservatism & NeoCons & Political Correctness
I posted a couple of links at the Soggy “Liberal” blog. The origin of the word “racism” came up. The author challenged my assertion that it is of neo-Marxist origin. One of the links was to an article by Sam Francis specifically on that topic. Francis sites the Oxford English Dictionary which I think is pretty authoritative. The article is from the Amren website. The second link is to the transcript of the video The Frankfurt School Story. It is from a Council of Conservative Citizens website.
I knew the blogger would balk at the websites, being the sensitive PC enforcer that he is, so I specifically asked him to consider the content and not the website. Well my plea failed. Since I linked to websites with impure thoughts, that is proof I am a “troll” and all further comments by me will be banned.
First of all, censorship is not very liberal of the Soggy “Liberal,” is it? Also, he doesn’t understand what a troll is. A troll is on a site simply making trouble. If you are actually trying to engage in a reasoned debate, then you are not a troll; you are simply a competing opinion. But it is, of course, always much easier to shout down and censor people than it is to argue back. Maybe he was upset because I appealed to the Oxford English Dictionary and he appealed to Dictionary(dot) com.
Also, if he was as informed about paleoconservatism as he says he is (We want to go back to the Stone Age.) , then he would know that paleos often have a lot of differences with Amren and the CoCC. But if they are the source of good information on a topic, I guess I am not supposed to cite them because they will offend the Soggy “Liberal’s” sensitive, oh so PC sensibilities.

One of the guy’s majors is in rhetoric. I think he’s testing some of what he’s learned in that thread.
He does appear very well informed for a freshman. All I knew as a Freshman was I was Southern, was a fan of Dubya, and conservatives like me didn’t like big government.

I will vouch for you on the point that, in spite of a lot of overlap, there are differences between doctrinaire paleoconservatism and Dr. Francis/CofCC, me obviously being biased toward the latter.
Sam was not necessarily, and never liked the label, paleocon. In fact, he thought the mutual decision by the movement at one point in the past to call itself “paleoconservatism” was “clumsy.”

Frank B Lee:
I think in the greater scheme of things, this “soggy liberal” is very informed for a college freshman. However, even at 18 years old, I knew that most people who opposed American entry into WWII pre-Pearl were neutralitarians (“isolationist” is the modern pejorative), and that the faction that was pro-Hitler wasn’t that influential. If this person is as smart as you would like to think he is, he should be able to see this historical dichotomy.
The version I buy is that he’s very smart and very well read, but he lets his left-wing fanaticism get the better of his intellectual honesty (as fanatics tend to do, that’s the essence of fanaticism). If he has a future beyond being the smartest and most respected regular at Daily Kos, then he is going to have to learn (like I had to) that there are times when one has to try and look at the world beyond the rose-colored ideological shadings of one’s glasses.

“I knew that most people who opposed American entry into WWII pre-Pearl were neutralitarians (â€isolationist†is the modern pejorative), and that the faction that was pro-Hitler wasn’t that influential.”
I doubt I knew a thing about any opposition to WWII at the time. I read a lot, but I didn’t read about things like that.
“The same ones that opposed entering WWII because they sort of liked Hitler.”
I figured he was referring to some of the British conservatives whom I’ve heard liked Hitler before the war rather than the America First movement. His subject was conservatism in general and not American conservatism I believe. I’ve never looked into the claim; I might have heard incorrectly.

Filmer: are you by any chance the commenter who has gone by the *nom d’internet* “conservative philosopher” over at my regular blog, Right Reason?
Or perhaps he’s just imitating your style.

Steve Burton,
Wow. I hope I have a style. Anyway, you have mail.

Blogmeister,
You should make that point at the Soggy Liberal blog. I don’t think I can because he will censor me.

For the record, no I am not Conservative Philosopher.

Speaking of censorship. This site, Conservative Times, has never published any of my (several? dozen) replies to posts.
Why this is I can’t figure out. I’m not a “troll” as defined in the post above. My replies all were directly addressed to the issues raised in the post to which I responded.
I have an earned Ph.D. and have published several books. All my replies were extremely well-written; none was obscene or scurrilous. I am not a Liberal or a Neoconservative.
It is true that I am more of a European Conservative; thus I disagree that there is a total correlation between holiness and either the USA or the very rich.
Obviously I no longer comment on any post. And I know you will not post this reply either. However, I do want to point out to whoever, if anyone, reads this reply that the CT is the most religiously censored blog outside of Communist China.
Why are you afraid of the truth.

Jan,
None of your posts have intentionally been deleted.
We get a ton of robot-generated comments, mostly porn, and sometimes in mass-deleting these posts a legitimate post gets deleted, but we try to be very careful.
