AZ’s situation is not the same as that in other states. MA doesn’t share a border with Mexico so the problem of illegal immigration is not nearly the problem here as it is in AZ.

I can understand AZ’s predicament despite my reflexive New England cultural sensibilities against such laws. I fully support AZ’s right to tackle this issue as they see fit since the Federal Government cares about the real concerns of AZ citizens not in the slightest.

But I really don’t think MA needs such laws at this time.

Former GA Rep. Nathan Deal Says He Wants to Bring Arizona Law to Georgia

I assume Filmer’s guy also would support similar legislation.

I post this not as an endorsement of Deal, but as an illustration. We don’t want immigration restriction ideas to be restricted to the margins. The fact that career politicians like Deal are now supporting such measures is a good sign. I hope more politicians do.

Great news! All we need do is shut down the borders, carry on as if nothing had happened, and with sufficient passage of time our race will be mongrelized out of existence.

Watch out! *Think* before urging your state to pass this kind of law.

    1. Listen to Brian and the Judge mornings on FOX if you have satellite radio.

    2. Even better, see what Arizona gubernatorial candidate Barry Hess has to say.

Barry is *not* an open-borders guy; he agrees that something must be done to halt illegal immigration. His solutions make sense. See:

    Alice,

Many libertarians have shown their true colors on immigration and are now marching in lockstep with the anti-occidental left / neocons:

Andrew Napolitano, on immigration, sounds no different from La Raza, Linda Chavez or Ramesh Ponnuru.

While I agree with the Judge on most matters, he gives the standard pie-in-sky answer about immigration which goes back to Milton Friedman.

    It goes like this:

Conservative: We need to stop immigration, the numbers and costs are just too great.
Libertarian: End welfare and public schools and your problems are over
Conservative: There is no political chance for that. So what can we do in the meantime?
    Libertarian: (silence)

I note that this Barry Hess in his position on the Arizona bill, whenever referring to illegals, he puts the word in scare quotes. Makes me think hes really just another egalitarian that still thinks people can go wherever, whenever and that all people are interchangeable; any talk of ‘enforcement’ is just political posturing.
