Independent Political Report has the story. Sean and I have already commented there.
For those unfamiliar with this story, due to some shoddy work on the part of the California’s Secretary of State, the minuscule Keyes’ faction is the officially recognized faction by the State, and they are now technically affiliated with America’s Independent Party, Keyes’ personal vanity vehicle. Technically the Constitution Party does not have a state affiliate in California even though the CP loyal faction is much larger.

I can agree with every thing that ‘Red’ said [and I do not] and still come to this conclusion:
the established [TWO YEARS, never lost a court challenge] administration of California’s American Independent Party is head and shoulders above the rear guard of the dysfunctional California AIP and national CP. Compare Edward Noonan, Mark Seidleman (sp), Mark Robinson, Nathan Sorethson (sp) with the lunatics associated with ‘Nightmare’ Nightingale (my term)!
[a] Since 1998 the national Constitution Party, as with the United States Tax Payer Party, has displayed it self to me as second rate public relations and third rate politics. To add insult to injury is the snide, cynical ‘CP Veterans Associations’. This is merely a partisan recruitment tool and has nothing to do with the plight and needs of former military.
[b] Since 1998 the OLD California AIP has shown it self to be an insular, non responsive pseudo business run by one family with brain less puppets as front men. (I met these folks in person. Vacant eyes that went on for ever. Smiles on a stick.)
[c] Do not take my word for it. Check out Chelene Ward Nightingale, Donald J. Grundmann, Bill Lussenheide, Jim King and his dual party GOP / AIP wife, and the Typhoid Mary of Conservatism, Cody Quirk.
[d] Pastor Chuck Baldwin. I don’t hate him. But I can not warm up to him. I view any thing he says or does with suspicion, including the migration to Montana.
