MEXICO CITY — Many here south of the border reveled in her disastrous evening: First Miss USA Rachel Smith slipped and fell on her bottom during the Miss Universe evening gown competition. Then she was booed by hundreds in the Mexican audience.
The treatment of the Tennessee beauty queen was nothing personal. It had more to do with Mexico’s sometimes tense relationship with its powerful northern neighbor.
U.S. athletes have sparked a similar response. In 2005, when the U.S. played Mexico during a World Cup soccer qualifier, the crowd booed the U.S. national anthem and a smattering of fans chanted “Osama! Osama!” during the game. ~ AP

I think Mexico had a right almost an obligation, to boo miss usa, she was an embarrasment when she fell on her butt, and STILL MADE IT INTO THE TOP 5??? even the look on her face showed that she knew she shouldn’t have made it to the top five, and probably felt ashamed and knew why the crowd was booing her. To make matters worse, every contestants spanish was better than miss usa???? her badly blundered buenas noches blah blah blah made me cringe. Lets face it Ms. Mexico was better looking and that’s what these contests are all about, no?????????? I thought miss Japan was genuine and openly gracious to the country that she was in and showed it and the crowd didn’t boo her even though she won?????

When Mexico’s citizenry insult a lovely representative of our Nation, damned right it’s personal!
Quit with the PC pretense that we are all friends! Friends do not disrespect another’s laws, heritage, and culture!
Close the border with these ungrateful 3rd world losers, and see how long they can exist without sucking on Uncle Sugar!
If you need help closing the border, just deputize the U.S. citizenry. We will do the job our employees are refusing to do!The non-legal entry point access will stop in 24 hours -guaranteed! Those trying to invade will not require deportation either – also guaranteed!

Who would or should be gracious to a bunch of third-world simians? No self-respecting human would want to speak their pigeon Mexican (even Spaniards recognize it as uncivilized). With the exception of a very small upper class of pure European blood, most Mexicans are either Amerindian or Mestizo (Amerindian with a little Spaniard or Negro mixed in). They are not European, nor do they possess such beauty.

They acted the same way towards the American contestant the last time the Miss Universe contest was held in Mexico. If it’s not booing the Star Spangled Banner or throwing plastic bags of urine at the American soccer team, it is driving drunk and wiping out American families in El Norte. You just got to love them.
