Benito … err … Rudy Giuliani is no Libertarian

Posted under Conservatism & Election 2008 & Political Philosophy & Ron Paul

Good article on the subject.

Why so-called pro-war libertarians like Eric Dondero support Rudy is beyond me. Probably because they aren’t first and foremost principled libertarians but are primarily social liberals. Per the Eric Donderoes of the world, “Islamofascists” in far away lands threaten their right to sin here at home. So to protect against that undesirable outcome, they want to sick Rudy and the full force of the US Military on those evil Islamofascist and kill all of them so sinners can continue to buy porn, fornicate and kill the unwanted byproduct of that act. (I guess you could sum that up in a slogan as “Kill Muslims so we can continue to make and kill babies.”)

Now exactly how those Islamofascists threaten their right to ogle women has never been clear to me. In the fearful, jingoistic wet dreams of ol’ Eric, I guess the Iranian Navy is traversing the Atlantic as we speak. Ready to land a large Normandy style assault force somewhere in Galveston Bay where they will quickly dispatch all resistance as they make their way from town to town slaughtering infidels. After they make quick work of all the gun toting Texans that stand in their way, they will single out poor Eric and burn him at the stake in a fire fueled exclusively by his porn stash.

That is the message of the hysterical Donderoesq “pro-war Libertarians.” Kill all them evil Fundamentalist Muslims or else all the young nubile American women will be forced to wear Burqas. How they get there from actually reality is anybody’s guess.

The ultimate illustration of the pro-war libertarian’s misplaced priorities is that they are supporting Benito who is about as close to a fascist as you will find in America. Indiscriminately killing Muslim makes for some strange bedfellows.

From what I can tell, Eric Dondero has recently become a full fledged neocon. At least you can give him credit for not bending with the wind. He supported Paul back when neocons were popular, and now that the neocon ship is sinking, he’s jumping on board – wanting to expand the neocon war in Iraq and looking under every log and stone for “Islamofascists.”

He needs to be taught that the spreading of liberal democracy in the Middle East is Jacobin, not conservative. And he’s jumped on board with the neocon / neoliberal open-borders crowd, trying to rally Hispanic discontent (in Spanish) in Paul’s district.

Like Bill Kristol, Dondero wants to spend billions to defend the borders of Israel and Iraq, but supports the open-borders, third-world invasion of the U.S. Sounds like treason to me.

Dondero’s a scumbag. Hell, he can’t even decide whether he supports Guliani or pimp Las Vegas gambler Wayne Allyn Root for President so he’s got his feet in both camps.

Il Duce a libertarian? Only their liberventionists fantasies. It’s nothing more than a question for power and influence in the Guliani administration, of which they would have none.

Maybe they could get jobs as capitol policemen and tell people to keep off grass. That’s about all they would receive. But that job is perfectly suitable for Eric Dondero.

I want to congradulate you on your accurate portrayal of Dondero. He claims both Libertarian and Republican, but is in fact neither. It’s telling when conservatives like you (not libertairans like me) denigrate Dondero for not being libertarian enough.
