Worldnet Daily columnist, Constitution Party member, and potential Constitution Party Presidential candidate, Jerome Corsi has a new website, www.1776Nation.com, and his primary issue is going to be ending the income tax.
Throughout the coming year, 1776 Nation is going to lead a movement to eliminate the income tax, beginning with a resolve to review critically the various alternatives, starting with a fair tax.
The call to “Eliminate the Income Tax Now!” is the call 1776 Nation will champion, beginning today, with this statement of purpose.

Interesting that a member of the Constitution Party is advocating to make everyone a federal welfare recipient via the Fair Tax

Dylan, I think you misread it. He resolves to “review critically the various alternatives, starting with a fair tax.” I suspect he will not be kind to the Fair Tax.

End the income tax? Really? Who will pay for the government then? How will we fund our national defense and stop the coming terrorist invasion? Are you suggesting that we just throw grandma out on the street until she freezes to death and cut the school lunch program until our children all starve to death? That is just low, even for this site. Disgusting.

Nate,
swing and a miss. That’s not what’s being proposed.
If you’re going to troll, at least read what you’re condemning first.

Wow Weaver, what part of “his primary issue is going to be ending the income tax” didn’t you understand? You far left liberals really are a barrel of laughs.

While it would be nice to not have the income tax around anymore, the problem is that the government already can’t pay its expenses. Unless a whole bevy of new taxes were created, or spending was drastically cut, it would lead to a fiscal nightmare.

Matt, are you saying that without the income tax the Feds will go bankrupt? That’s already happening with the income tax. If abolishing the income tax makes it happen sooner, that’s the best reason of all for abolition.
Weaver on 22 Dec 2010 at 5:28 pm #
If Corsi is reviewing the alternatives, he’s thinking of replacing the income tax.
Corsi should review: “The Case for Border Adjusted Federal Tax Reform Via the Business Transfer Tax“.
It’s better than the fair tax I think, though Dylan’s criticism still applies.

Weaver, What we really need to do is to stop taxing the rich period and start taxing the poor. Rich people don’t even use government at all, they send their kids to private schools and hardly even drive on public roads because they fly everywhere. Government does nothing for rich people. Poor people are the ones who have all the government jobs like fighting the War on Terror and use all the welfare and public schools, so it is about time poor people pick up the slack and pay their fair share of taxes. The rich should start paying their fair share also, which is next to nothing. This Jerome Corsi fellow sure has some weird unsustainable anti-freedom ideas.

Nate,
hard work isn’t the only thing that makes a man wealthy, and if the rich are investing overseas it isn’t helping America. You favour mass immigration of low quality immigrants and likely democracy, yet the poor vote for welfare.
I favour encouraging a middle class, but I favour different means than the income tax (e.g. limit CEO pay as is done in Japan, raise trade barriers possibly state trade barriers too, end subsidies, end immigration, deport illegals, remove the minimum wage to defeat unemployment, end the legal concept of a corporation as an entity, end fractional reserve banking). I don’t have answers so much as inclinations. Reality can’t be answered properly with mere ideology.

Weaver,
Limiting CEO pay is one of the most reprehensible anti-American policies that I can think of! Who are you to take away someone elses ability to earn a living leading a company? Its class warfare at its worst! Secondly, of course they invest overseas becuase it helps grow the economy by offshoring pollution and crappy jobs and in return we get cheap goods that even the poor can afford cars, laptops, and smart phones! Isn’t that the American dream?
Also are you serious about ending immigration and cutting off the vital flow of diversity which everyday makes America stronger? America needs high tech information economy workers and if we end immigration this website will be shutdown because the internet will collapse and this will lead to another great depression and even a mad max type doomsday scenario is possible!

Thanks Kyle K, I couldn’t have said it better myself. Even the smallest trade barriers will cause the price of everyday household items in America to rise by at least 1000%.
