Well thanks for that. I believe there’s nothing as powerful as what Richard Weaver called the tyrannizing image, a society’s ultimate ideal, which guides its actions. We’ve been rejecting ours for so long, it’s beginning to show. We’re aimless as a society because we have no social compass.
It’s amazing to me how many slave owners wrote against slavery. It’s more difficult to find proponents of slavery. Thankfully, we’re now free from that institution. A great many Founding and “Civil War” leaders were in favour of homogeneous states as well, which would be part of our current Tyrannizing Image here at CHT.
